Southern District Judge Kimba Wood approved Thursday a $1.3 million settlement agreement in a disability discrimination suit that was based on the design and construction of two residential developments.

In August 2013, nonprofit group Fair Housing Justice Center; Suzanne Vilchez, a paralyzed woman who uses a wheelchair; and her mother filed suit, claiming developers, architects and site engineers violated federal Fair Housing Act accessibility standards at Powell Cove Estates in Queens and Overlook Pointe in Dutchess County.
