The head of the state’s judicial disciplinary commission and representatives from various bar associations agreed at a hearing Tuesday that the disparities in how New York’s four appellate divisions discipline attorneys should be reconciled.

But witnesses testifying before the Commission on Statewide Attorney Discipline at the New York County Lawyers’ Association disagreed on whether New York should adopt a statewide system of attorney discipline and whether complaints about attorneys should be publicly disclosed.
