A Brooklyn attorney who was convicted last year of federal charges for running a debt collection relief scheme and who was facing disciplinary action has resigned from the bar.

Michael Levitis, 38, was convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, according to a decision handed down Wednesday by a panel of the Appellate Division, Second Department, in Matter of Levitis, 2015-00926.
