Former chief judge Judith Kaye will host an informational meeting Friday in Albany designed to create interest in applications for the job she held from 1993 to 2008.

Kaye heads the Commission on Judicial Nomination, the state panel that must send Gov. Andrew Cuomo by Oct. 15 a list of seven nominees from which he will choose a successor to the current chief judge, Jonathan Lippman.
