The deposition testimony of two former members of the Somalia-based terror organization al-Shabaab can be introduced at the federal trial of three defendants despite claims they were tortured before being handed over to the FBI.

Eastern District Judge Sandra Townes rejected the claims of Ali Yasin Ahmed and two co-defendants that a pair of witnesses were tortured when they were first arrested by foreign law enforcement agencies—allegedly as part of a joint venture with the United States—and should not be allowed to testify.
