The family of a dead college student may file a late notice of intent to sue Baruch College over its alleged failure to prevent his apparent hazing death in 2013, a state Court of Claims judge has determined.

Judge Alan Marin ruled from Manhattan in Liu v. Baruch College, M-85753, that the claim by the family of the late Chun “Michael” Deng has “demonstrated the appearance of merit,” a crucial aspect of the six-factor late-claim analysis used by the Court of Claims.
