A state appeals court has limited the scope of an Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board decision about the eligibility of per diem state court translators for jobless benefits.

A panel of The Appellate Division, Third Department, ruled 4-0 that it would not disturb a finding by the board that granted unemployment benefits to Cynthia Viau, but it rescinded the board’s findings that all similarly situated translators as Viau are also eligible for benefits, in Matter of Viau, 518607.
