GUARDIANSHIP OF JAMILA D., AN ALLEGED MENTALLY RETARDED PERSON (13/2164) — On the last adjourned date of this proceeding pursuant to Article 17-A of the Surrogate's Court Procedure Act seeking to appoint the petitioners, the respondent's parents who appeared previously, as guardians of the person of the respondent, the petitioners did not appear and the matter was marked "submitted" for the court to review the application to determine whether the matter could be determined on the papers filed, or whether additional appearances would be necessary. Based upon the documents filed, it appears that certain issues exist regarding the best interests of the respondent for which a hearing is necessary. Accordingly, the matter is placed upon the calendar of January 14, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. for a hearing. Notwithstanding any prior directions, the petitioners shall arrange for the respondent to be present at the hearing and any subsequent adjourned dates.
