A lawyer trying to recover money from a long-dead fee referral arrangement with another law firm on personal injury cases has been blocked from pursing a remedy in bankruptcy court.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit Friday held that Bradley I. Berger was out of luck on his claim that attorney Alexander Kran withheld documents that might show Kran and his former firm failed to disclose all of the money made on referrals and thus the fees that were owed to Berger.
