Applications for the upcoming vacancy on the state Court of Appeals occurring with the expiration of Judge Victoria Graffeo’s term must be received by the Commission on Judicial Nomination by June 15.
The commission will review submissions, interview top candidates and turn in a list of up to seven candidates to Gov. Andrew Cuomo for his selection of a nominee to the state Senate.
Graffeo’s 14-year term expires on Nov. 29. The 62-year-old judge plans to seek reappointment to the court (NYLJ, April 22).

The sole qualifications for Court of Appeals judges is that they live in New York and have been admitted to practice law in the state for at least 10 years.
