The Eastern District federal court will deem all employees essential in the event that the courts nationwide run out of money before the president and Congress come to an agreement to end the current partial government shutdown.

In a Thursday administrative order Chief Judge Carol Amon wrote, “The dispensing of justice is mandated by the Constitution and essential to government and the resolution of cases and controversies is the only work and product of the federal courts.”
