ESTATE OF GLADYS ALLEN, Deceased (973/13) — In this application by the Public Administrator for the issuance of letters of administration, a notice of appearance was filed on behalf of the decedent's niece and the matter was adjourned to permit the niece to cross petition for letters of administration or file objections to the Public Administrator's application. On the adjourned date, the cross petition had not been filed and the matter was marked "objections, if any, by September 5, 2013." To date, the niece has failed to file any cross petition or objections to the Public Administrator's application. The court dispenses with service in this proceeding upon the decedent's nephew, Dwight Allen, whose whereabouts are unknown; however, jurisdiction shall be obtained over him in any future accounting or other appropriate proceeding (SCPA 1003[4]).
