A judge has dismissed the claim of a spectator at the 2009 U.S. Open golf tournament at the Bethpage Black Golf Course on Long Island for injuries she suffered in a fall on the state-operated golf course.

Court of Claims Judge Gina Lopez-Summa (See Profile), sitting in Hauppauge, determined that plaintiff Mary Jane Sexton did not submit sufficient documentation to sustain her claim that she tripped on an uneven "ledge" that was allowed to form on a spectator walking path and fell some 25 feet down an embankment near a sand trap on the course's ninth hole.
