State court administrators are seeking comment on an amended rule to expand the contents of reports filed in contested matrimonial actions and also to set procedures for pretrial discovery of experts, including depositions. The Matrimonial Practice Advisory Committee said it developed the proposed amendments to 22 NYCRR §202.16(g) to "assure fairness in today’s increasingly complex litigation."

Reports of expert witnesses who are expected to be called, which must be filed 60 days in advance of a trial, would be expanded under the proposed changes to require information on experts’ publications, details of the opinions they will give and the compensation they will receive for appearing.
