Jamie Levitt, the head of the litigation department at Morrison & Foerster, understands how to respond when disaster strikes.

In the days following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Levitt teamed up with the New York City Bar and attorneys from a dozen law firms to create two “Helping Handbooks.” These guides provided families and small businesses with critical information about death certificates, insurance, benefits and other assistance available to those affected. At least 25,000 copies of the guide were printed and distributed at firehouses, libraries and the city bar.
