Albany Law School has named an assistant professor, Robert Heverly, as interim director of its Government Law Center for the next year. The appointment took effect on Aug. 15. Heverly replaces Patricia Salkin, who recently became dean of Touro Law Center on Long Island.

Heverly teaches international and comparative intellectual property, cyberspace law, property law, torts and entertainment law. Prior to leaving Albany Law for teaching stints at Michigan State University and at Norwich Law School of the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England, he was assistant director of the Government Law Center from 1992 to 2001. He earned his law degree from Albany Law.
