The last unresolved race from the general election for a state court judgeship has been resolved with Town Justice Raymond Elliott’s election to Supreme Court in the Third Judicial District. Mr. Elliott, a 27-year veteran of the North Greenbush Town Court in Rensselaer County, defeated Rensselaer County Family Court Judge Catherine Cholakis. The four-way race for two seats was too close to call following the voting (NYLJ, Nov. 10).

Albany County Judge Thomas Breslin, a Democrat, was the clear top vote-getter on Nov. 8. But Judge Cholakis, a Republican, held out hope that absentee ballots would narrow the margin between herself and Mr. Elliott, a Democrat, for the second qualifying spot.
