A Brooklyn federal magistrate judge has sanctioned Manhattan attorney Ira D. Tokayer and a kosher hot dog vendor he represents for destroying and suppressing evidence in a lawsuit against the management of the New York Mets’ Citi Field.

Eastern District Magistrate Judge Roanne L. Mann ruled Aug. 5 in Kosher Sports Inc. v. Queens Ballpark Co. LLC, 10-cv-2618, that Mr. Tokayer and his client, Kosher Sports Inc., were jointly liable for the fees incurred by Citi Field operator Queens Ballpark Co. in connection with its sanctions motion. The strongly worded order rebuked both attorney and client for a “lack of candor” during the discovery proceedings.
