The City of Utica and its police department have lost a bid to dismiss a $100 million suit brought by the sister of a woman who was murdered by her husband, a police officer who killed himself after brutally stabbing his wife.

Northern District Judge David N. Hurd noted that Kristin Mary Palumbo Longo “repeatedly contacted the [Utica Police Department] by phone to convey her concerns” about Mr. Longo.
