Mr. Livote was a referee in the New York state court system and Mr. McCullough was an administrative law judge for the state Division of Parole.

The Senate also approved unanimously as interim Supreme Court justices Robert Nahman, a Queens Surrogate, succeeding Peter J. Kelly; Barbara Newman, a Criminal Court judge, succeeding Donald R. Blydenburgh of Suffolk County; Norman Siegal, a Court of Claims judge, succeeding Frank B. Williams of Saratoga County; and William Donnino, a Court of Claims judge, succeeding Allen Z.
