Robert Abrams, New York Attorney General (1978-1994); Partner, Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP
Robert Abrams’ 28-year career in public life was marked by achievement, independence and integrity. He was elected to three terms in the New York State Assembly, three terms as Borough President of the Bronx and four terms as Attorney General of New York State. Abrams joined Stroock in 1994 following 15 years of distinguished service as Attorney General of the State of New York. As Attorney General, Mr. Abrams received numerous awards and honors and earned national prominence rarely achieved by a state-level official. He was widely heralded as a champion and protector of consumer rights. He served as president of the National Association of Attorneys General and was selected by his colleagues to receive the coveted WYMAN AWARD as Outstanding Attorney General in the Nation. At its June 2005 meeting, the National Association of Attorneys General presented Abrams with The Bellotti Award, given to a former attorney general who “has served NAAG and worked diligently to further its vision and mission and who exhibits outstanding leadership abilities and high moral character.” At Stroock, Mr. Abrams advises a diverse range of clients including individuals and companies that are subject to civil and criminal investigations.

Zachary Carter, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York (1993-1999); Partner, Dorsey and Whitney LLP
Zachary Carter arrived at Dorsey & Whitney LLP after a long and distinguished career in public service. Mr. Carter served as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York from 1993 to 1999. As United States Attorney for one of the largest federal districts in the United States, Mr. Carter’s tenure was noted for numerous prosecutions of national significance. Mr. Carter is a former Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and a former Judge of the Criminal Court for the City of New York. Mr. Carter is Chairman of the New York City Mayor’s Committee on the Judiciary. He is a Life Member of the Board of Trustees of the New York University School of Law and a member of the Board of Directors of the John Jay School of Criminal Justice Foundation. Mr. Carter also serves as Chairman of the Board of Hale House, a Harlem charity that provides social services to children and homeless families. Currently, Carter is a partner and head of the Trial Group of Dorsey and Whitney LLP’s New York office, as well as co-Chair of the firm’s White Collar Crime and Civil Fraud practice.

Janet DiFiore, Westchester County District Attorney
District Attorney Janet DiFiore has dedicated her career to public service as both a former Judge and prosecutor in Westchester County. District Attorney DiFiore served for more than ten years as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County and for the last four and a half years of her service as a prosecutor, DA DiFiore served as Chief of Narcotics coordinating drug enforcement and prosecution efforts within Westchester County on behalf of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Elected as a Judge of the Westchester County Court in 1998 and as a Justice of the New York State Supreme Court in 2002, DA DiFiore has presided over hundreds of cases in the County Court, the Family Court and the New York State Supreme Court. In 2003, DA DiFiore was appointed by Chief Judge Judith Kaye to serve as the Supervising Judge for the Criminal Courts in the 9th Judicial District, with oversight responsibility of the criminal courts of Westchester, Dutchess, Orange, Rockland and Putnam counties. DA DiFiore served as Supervising Judge of the Criminal Courts for the 9th Judicial District. DiFiore was elected District Attorney in 2005.

Harlan Levy is a partner at Boies Schiller & Flexner. Mr. Levy is Chair of the Council on Criminal Justice of the New York City Bar Association, a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Fund for Modern Courts, and a member of the American Bar Association Committee on Criminal Justice Standards. Mr. Levy previously served as a homicide prosecutor in the New York County District Attorney’s Office and in 2009 Co-Chaired the Special Victims Committee of the transition team of Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr.
