Matrimonial lawyers said last week that the income they stand to lose through the passage of no-fault divorce legislation in New York would be offset by the benefits to families facing less contentious, more expeditious divorce proceedings. "Hopefully, what this will do is decrease expenses for clients through expert fees, decrease counsel fee expenses, decrease the time courts have to spend on these cases," Bruce Wagner of McNamee Lochner Titus & Williams in Albany said. "If the court is spending less time to deal with these matters, that is good and will provide more time for them to be involved in more important issues like child support."
