Dechert yesterday added two restructuring partners from Goodwin Procter, including the co-head of that firm’s practice. Allan S. Brilliant and Craig P. Druehl joined Dechert in an effort to enhance the firm’s New York business restructuring and reorganization capabilities. “This is another key step forward in the service we are determined to provide to our clients and is a milestone in our expansion efforts for this practice area,” chairman Barton Winokur said in a statement.

Mr. Brilliant, 48, co-led the restructuring group at Goodwin since joining in 2005 from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, where Mr. Druehl, 37, had practiced as an associate. In the last two years, the pair have represented ad hoc bondholder groups in the CIT Group Funding Company, Builders First Source, and Motor Coach Industries bankruptcies. The hires come a year after Dechert brought on board Michael Sage, the former co-head of O’Melveny & Myers’ financial restructuring group. Separately, a co-chair of Dechert’s group, H. Jeffrey Schwartz left for DLA Piper in May to head its U.S. restructuring practice. – Nate Raymond
