Due to a change in methodology used to compile statistics for the NYLJ 100, an article in the special section on Monday on the size of the 100 largest law offices in the state reported incorrect statistics for Cravath, Swaine & Moore. The firm said that it had 468 lawyers as of Sept. 30, 2009, not 579 as reported. On Sept. 30, 2008, it had 508 lawyers. As a result, Cravath had 40 fewer lawyers in 2009, not 50 more as reported. The firm said roughly 95 associates have joined the firm after Sept. 30, 2009.

In prior surveys, some firms included the number of incoming first-year associates even if they did not join the firm until after Sept. 30.
