Philip J. Chetta, who served on the Supreme Court bench in Queens for 25 years, died Tuesday of congestive heart failure. He was 85.
Born and raised in Corona, Queens, Justice Chetta graduated from Queens College and then from St. John’s University School of Law in 1950. He was admitted the same year.
