An Israeli woman can proceed with divorcing her husband in Long Island, a state judge has ruled, declining to stay the action despite a pending case in the matter in Jerusalem.

The parties had failed to provide “any authority” regarding whether an Israeli rabbinical court, which had issued several decisions relating to support of the wife, had jurisdiction over the case, said Supreme Court Justice Anthony J. Falanga in Nassau County (See Profile).
