In a five-year adoption battle that has made its way from Family Court to the state’s highest court and back, a Queens judge has denied a birth father’s and paternal grandmother’s petitions for custody or visitation of an adopted-out girl, Seasia D.

Four days after Judge Carol R. Sherman granted a final order of adoption to Mr. and Mrs. Anonymous, as they are known in the decision, Seasia’s birth father and his mother petitioned for custody or, in the alternative, “liberal and unsupervised” visitation.
