New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said Wednesday she supports a study group’s draft recommendation that state Supreme Court judges receive a 10% annual pay increase in April, which stands to be their first bump in pay since 2019, while coming in the face of the state’s $9 billion-plus budget deficit.

In fact, Hochul revealed that she asked her three appointees to the seven-member New York State Commission on Legislative, Judicial and Executive Compensation to advocate for judicial raises.
