A defendant recently tried to turn an upstate venue into a literal kangaroo court.
Scott Lewis was charged in a town court and appeared on Feb. 16 in a kangaroo costume with a stuffed joey in the pouch. After he was directed by the town justice to remove the costume, Lewis departed but returned shortly thereafter sans disguise.
