Americans are on the move. According to a study by Hire a Helper, businesses are relocating at the highest rate in seven years. Such moves are not limited to publicly traded corporations whose moves are reported in the media; small businesses are also relocating.

Individuals are also moving, although not at the rate that was seen during the pandemic. The U.S. Census Bureau says that nearly 7.9 million people in the United States moved between states in 2021 alone. Individuals may relocate as a result of their employer’s move or for personal reasons—family, health, climate, state income taxes and more.
