U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon of the Southern District of New York on Wednesday sentenced Allianz Global Investors U.S. LLC to pay more than $5 billion in fines, restitution and forfeiture for its involvement in a securities fraud scheme.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York noted that AGI has already paid the financial penalties, which included $3.2 billion in restitution, $2.3 billion in fines and approximately $463 million in forfeiture.
