Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn was sworn in as president of the District Attorneys Association of the State of New York during its summer conference in Saratoga Springs on Saturday.

Meanwhile, DAASNY also gave an award to the team of assistants from Flynn’s office who prosecuted the racially motivated shooting massacre in May 2022 that resulted in the deaths of 10 Black people, with three others injured, at a Tops supermarket in Buffalo. Payton Gendron, the convicted teen shooter who livestreamed his attack on social media, is serving multiple life sentences.
