In a post on his social media site last Thursday, Donald Trump said that I had done something “honorable” in closing an investigation into certain properties owned by the Trump Organization.

This isn’t about being honorable (or dishonorable). I simply did my job. I did what prosecutors are required to do in every case: follow the facts and the law and make the determination to charge or not to charge based on the evidence and the law, not whether our decision will please or displease the defendant, the press or the community.
