In a pair of companion decisions that underscore the government’s high burden in public corruption cases, the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday unanimously overturned criminal convictions of a former top aide to ex-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and two other persons.

SCOTUS tossed the corruption conviction of Joseph Percoco, a former chief aide to Cuomo who had spent more than two years in federal prison.
