Jurors are set to begin weighing E. Jean Carroll’s claims of battery and defamation against former President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after nearly five hours of closing arguments Monday.
While traveling in Ireland last week, Trump told reporters he planned to return to New York to “confront” Carroll at the trial, but his lawyer Joe Tacopina said Trump would not make an appearance, and the defense rested its case without presenting evidence Thursday.
