New York’s recently launched ethics watchdog, which has continued with enforcement proceedings against former Gov. Andrew Cuomo regarding his 2020 memoir about the pandemic, was created through an act that’s unconstitutional, his attorneys said in court papers on Tuesday.

Filed in state Supreme Court of Albany County by Rita Glavin of Gavin PLLC and Greg Dubinsky of Holwell Shuster & Goldberg, the suit targets the Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government, which emerged through the Independent Ethics Commission Reform Act of 2022.
