Former President Donald Trump is seeking a jury instruction describing the “logistical burdens” that would accompany his presence in the courtroom at a civil trial set to begin Tuesday in Manhattan federal court, his lawyer Joe Tacopina of Tacopina, Seigel & DeOreo wrote in a letter Wednesday.

Tacopina wrote that Trump “wishes to appear” at the trial, which involves author E. Jean Carroll’s Adult Survivors Act and defamation claims against the former president, but he warned that his appearance would “result in … logistical and financial burdens upon New York City, its residents, and the Court itself.”
