The Law Department’s remarkable work protecting the interests of the city was recently highlighted in the Law Journal. This column details our efforts to help the city remain on the forefront of safeguarding New Yorkers from the existential threat of climate change.

The city is getting hotter, sea levels are rising, and hurricanes are becoming more intense. By the 2050s, approximately 43 miles of New York City’s 520-mile coastline could be at risk of daily or weekly tidal flooding, even on sunny days.
