New York’s Democratic Senate majority’s one-house budget plan on Tuesday seeks to roll back a longtime tax break to Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, the latest apparent twist in a battle with the entertainment venue’s owner who has been maligned for enforcing an “adverse attorney” ban.

In a statement, state Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal, D-Manhattan, said Senate Democrats are pushing for the repeal to stand up for New York City taxpayers “and straphangers.”
