The racist white teen who shocked New York and the country by killing 10 Black people in a shooting massacre he livestreamed at a grocery store in Buffalo has pleaded guilty, his lawyer Brian Parker said during a news conference on Monday. The move spares the community what could have been a traumatic trial.

Payton Gendron, 19, pleaded guilty to 10 counts of first-degree murder, three counts of attempted murder, a count of a domestic act of terrorism motivated by hate, and a weapons possession charge in the mass shooting at Tops Friendly Markets on May 14.
