The state’s Commission on Judicial Conduct found that a town justice who is an attorney and who highlighted his position on the bench in support letters he wrote on court stationery to help a court clerk obtain a pistol license should be admonished.

The judicial watchdog recommended the sanction for North Salem Town Court Justice John Aronian, who has been on the bench since 2016.
