Citing a lack of subject-matter jurisdiction, a federal court judge in Syracuse dismissed a lawsuit by national gun-rights groups that sought to prevent New York from enforcing the Concealed Carry Improvement Act, landmark firearms legislation that took effect in New York on Thursday.

Despite the plaintiffs’ lack of standing, U.S. District Chief Judge Glenn Suddaby of the Northern District of New York noted the argument was a “strong showing.”
