The former town attorney for a Nassau County municipal government who was wrapped up in a corruption scandal that resulted in criminal convictions for the ousted county executive and other government officials had his law license stripped by a midlevel appeals court.

Leonard Genova served as both town attorney and deputy town supervisor for Oyster Bay from 2010 to 2017, during which time Genova and government officials tailored contract bid requests to favor political contributors, a panel from the Appellate Division, Second Department wrote in an order issued on Wednesday disbarring him after more than 30 years in practice.
