Zephyr Teachout, a Democratic candidate for New York Attorney General, announced on Sunday that she is suspending her run for the office and putting her support behind incumbent Letitia James for her re-election in 2022.

“Our campaign for New York Attorney General has always been rooted in doing the best for New Yorkers,” Teachout said in a statement. “Attorney General Letitia James is an exceptional leader and dedicated public servant. Given her decision to seek re-election, I will be immediately suspending my own campaign.
