Beginning to make her mark on the state’s highest court, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Wednesday announced that she will be nominating Shirley Troutman, currently an associate justice in the Appellate Division, Fourth Department, as the newest associate judge of the New York Court of Appeals.

If confirmed, Troutman will replace Judge Eugene Fahey, who reached the mandatory retirement age this year and will step down at the end of 2021.
