The New York state court system on Wednesday released a report on its progress since an independent review published in fall 2020 revealed persistent issues with racism and bias.

In response to the independent review, which was led by Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison partner Jeh Johnson, the court system has instituted mandatory anti-bias training for judges and staff, developed new policies for uniformed court personnel and appointed a bias-focused ombudsperson, among other changes.
