Legal representatives for New York City shelter residents and the city’s Department of Homeless Services are set to head back into court Thursday afternoon amid the latest conflict in a legal battle over the shelter system’s transition out of hotels occupied during the pandemic.

Attorneys with Jenner & Block and The Legal Aid Society filed an emergency motion late Tuesday asking U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni of the Southern District of New York to amend the preliminary injunction against the city.
