A former attorney in Brooklyn was sentenced to one to three years in prison Monday after he pleaded guilty to grand larceny of his clients’ money.

Edmundo Roman-Perez, 71, was indicted in February 2020 on allegations that he stole $280,000 that was supposed to be held in escrow as down payments for two clients who were selling their homes. A unanimous panel of justices in the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department ordered that he should be disbarred around the same time.
