New York’s vaccine rollout is ongoing and the court system is planning to bring back jury trials, but Chief Judge Janet DiFiore warned Monday that most court proceedings will continue to be virtual “for the foreseeable future.”

The chief judge, who made the comments in a video posted on the court system website, reported there were upward of 1,200 “virtual bench trials and evidentiary and fact-finding hearings” that started last week statewide.
