Can you have power without having control?
With the right voice, yes. Twenty years ago, on March 12, 2001, a woman showed the world just how much a single person could accomplish with just a few words on a page.
Just a few weeks ago, a different woman, Stacey Plaskett, made quite an impression with nothing more than her voice. One of the most compelling House Impeachment Managers this past January and a non-voting member of Congress from the U.S. Virgin Islands, Plaskett did not—could not—vote to impeach Donald Trump. Still, using the skills she honed as a prosecutor, she changed minds with the power of her arguments. A remarkable feat, yet perhaps not the most extraordinary act of persuasion by a Congressional Delegate from that unincorporated territory of the United States.
